With the global development in economic thought, the concept of development has witnessed a series of transformations and developments. By the early 1970s, it had taken on a greater dimension than economic and social dimensions. New terms were introduced, the most important of which was sustainable development. The concept of sustainable development is considered a new and innovative concept, as there is not a universally agreed on the concept. Sustainable development can be seen as social change directed according to a specific ideological policy. It is a long-term, comprehensive and integrated planning process in its economic, social, cultural, environmental, and technological dimensions, where it aims to achieve continuous improvement in the well-being of all members of society. Also, it should not be limited to a specific sector, but to the others as well, nor should it be dependent on one topic. In this context, this conference will highlight the most important and recent advancements between reality and expectations in sustainable development because of their role in establishing and developing strategic development visions, given the changes the world is going through at various levels, especially the political, economic and social one. We attempt to discuss this according to a set of core issues including the role of the public sector, private sector, and local and international organizations in achieving the goals of sustainable development and their benefits in the light of United Nations Vision 2030.
